Cohiba Maduro Genios

Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios is a Robusto Extra, measuring 140mm with a 50 gauge, Genios are the largest of the Maduro range. Cohiba introduced the Linea Maduro 5 collection in 2007, unique to all 3 cigars in this range, the tobacco wrapper is the Dark Maduro leaf.

This leaf grows at the very top of shade-grown plants, requiring an additional aging and fermentation process over 5 years, resulting in a sweeter flavor and inspiring the name of this collection. Filled with the signature tobacco blend exclusive to Cohiba, all of their vitolas are Totalmente a Mano, Tripa Larga – long filler, handmade, in the famous El Laguito factory.

The aromas are lively with cinnamon and honey at the top, and the rich flavors developed as we smoked initially displaying notes of coffee and roasted tobacco, later developing into chocolate and touches of nutty nougat.

While the wrappers are aged for 5 years the internal fill is aged for 2-3 years, so while they are a great smoke right out of the box they would rest well in your humidor for reintroduction at a later date.
